Something about the Swedish Wiktionary
... I have long thought that I would write, but it has not happened. One reason has probably been that I wanted to do the subject justice in any way, wanted to do anything of it. Let's get down to what it is ... I can always return to the topic once I've introduced it.
What is Wiktionary , to begin with? Let's see what the Swedish Wiktionary "Main Page" (see link at the beginning of this paragraph) has to say under the heading which reads just What is Wiki? : "Wiki is a project, open to all to attend, with goal of creating a free dictionary for all words in any language, with explanations, pronunciation guidance, pedigrees, synonyms, antonyms, examples, translations and more. Yes. I do not have time to write much more today, but I'll add that there is a link to Wikipedia (Wiktionary is one of the so-called "sister projects", and began almost as a avstjä ; lpningsplats for clean "dictionary definitions" that people did not think belong in Wikipedia), and as is the case with Wikipedia, there are a very much larger English-language project and a lot of other lan kversioner some of which also are quite large . And so this is obviously a dictionary, sometimes right useful, while there is a project to build a dictionary. But, there is a Swedish dictionary as so far no spreads that manage , circumstance and lap (see Wiktionary: Project / Wishlists / Swedish / Preferred ) - so there's plenty of room to help build on! And we are very grateful. And I say we. My first edit as a registered user (under the name Ever wonder ) I made May 25, 2006 (was not that long ago?) And it has had time to get a few pieces (where's the Now you see the number?) since then although I have not been as active throughout time. I'm much, much more a part of the "Community" in Wiktionary than Wikipedia. Yes, I am even Administrator , indeed. Heh.
